Weddings

❖ Your wedding day is a real-life romance: it's going to be one of the most important, emotional, significant days of your life and by the following day it will be a memory. My job is to capture the tenderness, the magic and the depth of it, and to produce pictures that will evoke the feelings and beauty of the day. To make such pictures requires sensitivity and empathy - I recognise that you are unique and individual, and I approach your wedding with the care and respect that it deserves.

An award-winning documentary cameraman, my approach is also known as portrait or reportage photography..... It's about being in the right place at the right moment to witness and to capture both the big story and the intimate details. It's about telling the story of your most precious day in a way that will enable you to relive it all again in twenty years time. It's also about taking you and your beloved and creating beautiful and evocative pictures that speak of another world entirely. Photography shouldn't overshadow your occasion, it should add to it by capturing the excitement and beauty, the grace and elegance, the joy, romance, laughter and tears.

Establishing a good rapport with you both - and with the other main participations - is key, so that you feel you can trust me and are comfortable sharing your day. To this end, I will spend time with you well beforehand, discussing the day, how events are likely to unfold and how you are anticipating the whole occasion.

If you want group and family pictures it is entirely possible to have these evolve out of the moment in a natural, spontaneous and enjoyable way so they become part of the celebration rather than bringing everything to a halt. Inevitably, I can only show you a selection of pictures in the slideshow, but if you wish, I can give you access the entire results of an wedding shoot - just contact me.

Weddings are the most photographically challenging events of all to shoot well - there are no second chances - so it's important that you are working with someone who has the experience and confidence to feel relaxed and to enjoy photographing your day. However detailed the planning, magical things are going to be happening spontaneously when you least expect them - the opportunity for me is to be fully present in the moment, capturing events as they unfold, whilst remaining open to the possibility of the unexpected.

If you're ready to choose your photographer, do give me a call - I offer a one hour meeting completely without charge or any obligation whatsoever so that you can ask me about anything you wish, we get to know each other a little and we can take the time to look at how you'd like your day to be photographed.

"Thank you for being so amazing on our wedding day. Seeing you in the churchyard when I arrived with your huge, warm smile was just lovely. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed your very presence! You were a joy to be around. You did exactly what you promised - you didn't take away from the reception and allowed us to have time with our guests - perfect. Most of all, I need to send you a massive hug for settling D's nerves at the church!!! He said you really settled him down and that's above and beyond your fee and we're both very grateful. All in all, you were an absolute star and I would gushingly recommend you."
